Ammannia ssp. 'Bonsai' is a small leafed, bright red plant that is becoming quite popular.  It grows at a medium pace, and it undemanding in all other respects.  We have found that it makes a nice deep carpeting plant for the foreground, but does require periodic trimming to keep healthy.
